The Algoma girls' basketball team will open their 2023-2024 campaign with a non-conference tilt against Bonduel.

The Wolves finished last year 12-14, losing to Crandon in the second round of the WIAA Tournament. They are led in scoring by Ryley Zimmerman, who averaged 11.5 points per game as a junior. The Wolves will have to replace the since-graduated Emily Kirchman, who was second in scoring and first in rebounding for the team.

The Bears finished last season 22-5, falling in sectionals to Mishicot 42-40. They return their top scorers, Hailey Zernicke and Ella Hischke, into the fold as they both averaged double figures last year.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Algoma.
