Wolves volleyball runs with the Red Devils Tuesday

After conquering one side of the river last week, the Algoma volleyball team will try to do the same things Tuesday night when they face Green Bay East at 7 p.m.

The Algoma Wolves were able to rebound from a dropped third set to capture the match from Oconto 3-1 (25-17, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19) in front of its home crowd Thursday night. The Wolves were led by Ryley Zimmerman (5 Kills, 12 Digs, 12 receptions) and MyLee Jones (13 Kills, 10 Digs, 12 receptions) with double figures in three statistical categories. Hannah Nell distributed the ball well with 31 assists and Olivia Cabino was a stalwart on defense with 11 digs and 20 receptions. THey were also able to beat Green Bay West in straight sets last week.

The Red Devils are winless in four tries so far this season, running into the buzz saw that is defending state champion Xavier losing in straight sets 25-6, 25-5, 25-10.

The first serve from Green Bay East is set for 7 p.m.
