Carson Leist helped Algoma shut down and blowout their visitors from St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday, advancing to the next round of the WIAA Tournament with a 10-0 win.

Leist went all five innings in the mercy-rule-shortened contest, allowing just three hits but striking out eight.  He also went 3-3 at the plate while knocking in a run. It was part of a pair of four-run innings for the Wolves, which led to the rout. Grant Vandervest added two hits while Jordan Fenendael knocked in a pair of runs in the victory.
