Wolves baseball take down Blazers twice

The Algoma baseball team came from behind in its second game to sweep a doubleheader away from NEW Lutheran Monday afternoon.

In its 4-2 win opening game win, the Wolves found themselves down 2-0 in the first inning after the Blazers scored on an error and a single. That is how it would stay until the fourth inning when the Wolves took advantage of a pair of errors to tie the game Aiden Jorns delivered the eventual game-winning hit on an RBI single. Grant Vandervest's sacrifice fly drove home Carson Lischka to give the Wolves their final margin of victory. Carson Leist went the distance for the Wolves, give up three runs  (2 ER) across seven innings while striking out eight.

The Wolves scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to steal the second game 7-4. After Vandervest scored the game's opening run on a wild pitch, the Wolves found themselves down early again after the Blazers scored twice on an error. Kaden Vardon would even the score in the next inning with a double to drive home Leist. The two teams would trade scores to make it 3-3 heading into the top of the seventh inning. The Wolves rallied with RBi hits from Parker Lischka and J Fenendael and free passes earned by Carson Lischka and Aiden Jorns.  The Wolves allowed a Blazers player to get on via an error before retiring the final two batters.
