The Algoma Wolves started off their season in winning fashion, defeating the Crivitz Wolverines 1-0 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday. 

Hannah Nell started the game for the Algoma Wolves in a low scoring pitchers duel between the Wolves and Wolverines. Brooke Mattson scored the lone run for the Wolves off of a Ryley Zimmerman bunt that resulted in a Crivitz error. Algoma looks primed to improve on their record from last season with the win over Crivitz, and has a matchup with a Packerland Conference opponent next. For Crivitz, they will need to bounce back and improve their 1-2 overall record. 

Both teams had two hits on the night, with Mattson and Zimmerman having the two from Algoma. The Wolves ending up having four walks on the night however. 

Algoma will take on the Eagles of Southern Door next and Crivitz will move on to a matchup with Laona/Wabeno.
