The Algoma boys' basketball team is showing some major signs of improvement heading into Saturday's matchup at Peshtigo.
The Wolves' sank 11 threes last Friday, it was not enough to topple Oconto in a 62-56 loss. Owen Robertson had a team-high 14 points in the loss with three of those three-pointers to his credit. Kaden Vardon added 12 points (three 3s), Chase Romdenne chipped in 11 points, Grant Vandervest contributed 8 points (two 3s).
A late first-half push from Peshtigo gave them the 32-23 halftime lead against Sturgeon Bay last week. The Clippers were able to bring the game back within reach and maintained that close margin through much of the second half. A late push fueled by good free throw shooting for the Bulldogs led them to the 60-50 victory.
Tip off is set for 2:30 p.m.
