Algoma High School

Wolves girls host Gresham Wildcats

The Algoma Wolves girls basketball team will get back to action Thursday night when they take on Gresham Community at home.

Algoma is fresh off of a convincing win over Green Bay East on Monday night 61-20, where they led by 30 at half and continued to grow their lead. Emily Kirchman and Ryley Zimmerman were the big contributors in that matchup, and Zimmerman has taken control of the team as the leader in scoring this season. Algoma’s defense has been a big part of their success, holding teams under 50 in their last three games.

For Gresham, they have begun their season at 7-5 overall and lead the Central Wisconsin North Conference at 4-0 in conference play. That success has come from the hand of Madolyn Haffner, who has averaged 13.2 points per game on the season. The Wildcats are a strong defensive unit, averaging 13.8 steals per game.

Tip from Algoma is set for 7:30 P.M.
