Algoma High School

Overcoming changes in store for Wolves Boys Basketball season

The Wolves of Algoma saw themselves in a bunch of close losses last season in the men's basketball season. They will look to turn those close losses into wins, without the leading scorer in the Packerland conference returning this season.

With a 3-13 record last season in the Packerland, and a 7-16 record overall, Algoma will look to take the multiple close losses and turn the record into a more positive outcome this season. It will all be without Carter Zimmerman however, as he was a part of the four player senior class the Wolves had last season. Zimmerman averaged 21.1 points per game on 54.3% shooting from the field.

Expect Kaden Vardon and Owen Robertson to take the biggest steps and take over the running of the offense for the Wolves. Algoma also has seen their head coaching position undergo some changes with their former head coach Corie Zimmerman stepping down. Eric Schneider has taken over the head coaching position and role for the Wolves, and will lead the team for the 2022-2023 season.

Algoma opens up their year against NE Wisconsin Christian Home School on November 22nd, and takes on their first conference opponent on December 1st against the Kewaunee Storm.
