Algoma looks to spoil Sevastopol playoff hopes

The Algoma Wolves look to play spoiler against an improved Sevastopol squad when the two square off on Friday night.

The Wolves found their groove again last Friday in a 42-24 win over Oneida Nation/NEW Lutheran. Grant Vanderbest was nearly perfect passing in the game, going 6-7 with a touchdown and 102 yards to his ledger. He did most of his damage from the ground, going for three touchdowns and nearly 190 yards.

The Pioneers need to win out for consideration into the WIAA Eight-Player Football bracket. They picked up a big 20-18 win over Suring last week when Logan Schuh found Logan Retzlaff for their second score of the game in the fourth quarter. It was just part of Schuh's big day that included 192 yards rushing.

The two team face each other at Perry Field in Algoma at 7 p.m.
