Algoma football looks ahead to local clash after blowing past Wausaukee

Saturday's matchup against Gibraltar will feature two high-powered offenses after the Algoma Wolves topped Wausaukee last Thursday 54-22.

The Wolves scored five touchdowns before the Rangers scored any points before the two teams would trade scores the rest of the way.

Kaden Vardon and Grant Vandervest did the bulk of the damage for the Wolves, combining for two passing touchdowns and another six scores on the ground. Vandervest ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns and caught another four balls for 121 yards and a score. Vardon rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns as well, but threw for 146 yards and a score.

A long 60-yard touchdown from Luke Smith to Nathan Shaw provided the Rangers their biggest highlight of the evening.
