After watching teams from around Northeast Wisconsin get their first games underway, 8-Player team Algoma will finally get to feel that way as well, as they open up their season tonight against Oneida/NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy.
A 6-2 record is what the Wolves finished with last season, and with a lot of talent coming back besides a few select seniors, the Peninsula conference title is something the team should be shooting for. With not being eligible for the playoffs once again this season, the team will begin its 8 game season against the team that finished last in the conference last season. Oneida/NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy finished 0-8, averaging a total of 3.8 Points Per Game.
Carter Zimmerman was the Wolves offense last year though, scoring 30 total touchdowns on the year. Algoma will have to find a way to fill his shoes due to losing him to graduation, as a quarterback and a runner.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 P.M. at Perry Field.
