Algoma wheelchair athlete Logan Borths became the area's first medalist at this year's WIAA State Track Meet Friday morning.

His throw of just over 14 feet was good enough for sixth place in the wheelchair shot put division. Josh Jundt from the Indian Trail Academy won with a throw of over 25 feet.
