Algoma boys battles Gresham on parents' night

The Algoma boys' basketball team will honor its parents Monday night before it plays Gresham in its final regular-season non-conference game.

The Wolves snuck past Sturgeon Bay 62-59 on the night that Carter Zimmerman broke the school record for career points scored. They have otherwise lost six of their last eight games and will have to travel to Shiocton next Tuesday when the WIAA Division 4 Playoffs start.

The Tigers have gone 5-3 during the month of February, including a 68-61 win over Almond-Bancroft in their last game. Lukas Pecore (17.1 ppg), Will Jensen (14.9 ppg) and Belasaire Vele (13.4 ppg) lead the Tigers in scoring. Vele also leads the team in rebounds and assists.

Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
