Wolves set to host Pioneers in conference play

The Algoma girls’ basketball team will host the Sevastopol Pioneers on Thursday night in a Packerland conference matchup.

The Wolves have been playing some of their best basketball of the season over their last couple of games. They have dropped two games in a row by a combined nine points against Oconto and Peshtigo, who are two of the better teams in the conference. The Wolves are led by Ryley Zimmerman and Emily Kirchman who are averaging 10 and 6 points per game respectively.

The Pioneers are coming off of a big win over Sturgeon Bay in their last contest and are looking to keep that production up against a Wolves team that has been playing well as of late. The Pioneers have won three of their last five, with those three wins coming over their last three consecutive games. They are led by Bailey and Naomi Rikkola who are averaging 15 and 11 points per game respectively.

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
