The Algoma boys’ basketball team hosted the Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Association on Thursday night in a non-conference matchup. 

The first half of the ball game was a close one, as Algoma only took a 3 point lead into the half time break. Algoma outscored NEWCHA by 13 points in the second half to pull away with the 64-48 win. 

Cater Zimmerman made five 3-pointers and netted 29 points for Algoma, while NEWCHA was led by Jacob McDonald and Benny Erickson who scored 11 points each. 

Algoma will be in action again on Saturday as they host the top seed N.E.W Lutheran Blazers.
