The Algoma girls’ basketball team will host the Gibraltar Vikings on Saturday in a Packerland Conference battle. 

Algoma is looking to avoid back to back losses as they dropped their last matchup to Luxemburg-Casco by a score of 46-38. The Wolves would like to get back into the win column by beating the Vikings and getting back to .500 in the conference play. The Wolves are led by Ryley Zimmerman who is averaging 10 points per game. 

Gibraltar comes in seeking their first win of the season after dropping their first 12 games of the year. The latest loss for the Vikings came against Packerland opponent Peshtigo Bulldogs by a score of 51-31. The Vikings are looking to gain big momentum by going on the road and beating the Wolves in front of their home crowd. The Vikings are led by Andie Schar and Colleen Carlisle who are averaging 12 and 11 points per game respectively. 

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. from Algoma High School.
