Algoma falls short against Gibraltar

The Algoma Wolves girls' basketball team outscored the Gibraltar Vikings in the second half but it was not enough as they fell 44-43 in the first game of their regular season.

Down four at the break, the Wolves outscored the Vikings 22-19 in the second half and held the lead heading to the final moments. A Sage Krause three in the final moments of the game spoiled the effort for the Wolves team. Hannah Wiese led all Wolves players with 16 points while Emily Kirchman scored another 13 points in the loss. Krause led all scorers with 17 points.

The Wolves will look to even their record at 1-1 when they play Sevastopol on December 7th.
