The Wolves got off to a slow start last week against Newman Catholic and paid for it with their first loss of the season and their first loss in eight-man football. Head Coach Wade Vandervest said that it only took six minutes to dig a deep hole.

Vandervest says that the slow starts had been identified as an issue but it is hard to get through to young players when they're winning. Now that the team has seen how it can hurt them, Vandervest believes they are ready to learn from the Newman Catholic game. Gillett is 2-1 on the year. Their only loss was to Gibraltar in Week Two.
