Wolves clobber Blazers in softball

Algoma Wolves Varsity defeated Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran 15-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Rylee Fenendael induced a groundout from H Suski to finish off the game.

 

Algoma Wolves Varsity got things moving in the first inning.  Chloie Spitzer drove in two when she tripled.

 

Algoma Wolves Varsity scored seven runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive firepower by Algoma Wolves Varsity was led by Breanne Schmidt, Fenendael, Missy Srnka, and Emersyn Wallace, who each had RBIs in the inning.

 

A single by M Torres in the first inning was a positive for Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran.

 

Maddie Prokash was the winning pitcher for Algoma Wolves Varsity. She allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking zero.  Fenendael threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

J Nelson took the loss for Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran. She lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and 15 runs while striking out five.

 

Hannah Lee, Payton Jandrin, Srnka, Spitzer, and Wallace all had one hit to lead Algoma Wolves Varsity.  Algoma Wolves Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Makayla Guillette made the most plays with six.

 

M Zimmer went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran in hits.
