Storm sweep doubleheader from Eagles on 104.1 WRLU

The Kewaunee Storm prevailed on Tuesday afternoon sweeping a twin-bill from the Southern Door Eagles with scores of 6-4 and 6-0 in Packerland Conference baseball. 

 

In the opener, Kewaunee jumped to a 4-0 as they benefited from six walks and two hit batters in the first two innings.  

Southern Door battled back with a run in the second and two more runs in the fifth inning to make it 4-3.  Kewaunee missed on some scoring opportunities and left the door open for the Eagle to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a clutch two-out single by Isaac Baudhuin.  

The Storm quickly captured the lead in the top of the eighth on a two-run single by Micah Vanness.  Waylon Delain got the win by pitching in relief of Brett Paulsen.  Will Jandrin took the loss for the Eagles.

 

In the nightcap, The Storm again jumped to an early lead getting two runs in the first inning and adding runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to seal the 6-0 shutout.

Brady Pribek went five strong innings allowing no runs and Jackson Walecka picked up the save closing out the game.  Will Jandrin took the loss in the second game for the Eagles.

 

 

 

Southern Door (4-5, 5-6 overall) will play Oconto on the road Friday starting at 4:30 p.m.

 

The Storm (4-3, 7-4 overall) will play a doubleheader on Friday at home against Gibraltar/Washington Island with first pitch at 4:00 p.m. and pregame on 104.1 WRLU starting at 3:45 p.m.  Paul Schmitt will have the call on the New Radio Sports Network.
